about
COUCH & BEYOND

Couch & Beyond is born out of deep conviction

to bridge gap between ‘health’ and ‘illness’

and to help facilitate an attitude

of self care and personal growth when thinking mental health.

It is a unique therapeutic space

that weaves together 'clinical' and 'creative' dialogues for all,

bringing together concerns of health and illness;

clinical interventions and proactive / support initiatives;

as part of one fabric and under one entity - 'Couch & Beyond'

because....mental health concerns us all.

Be it those suffering from mental anguish,

emotional distress, psychological dysfunction or those grappling

with ordinary yet challenging life transitions,

Couch & Beyond recognises need of different psychological states.

Hence, it offers ‘couch work' i.e. long term intensive psychoanalysis

and psychoanalytic psychotherapy as well as therapeutic space for

reflective engagements, proactive dialoguing and support work.

Concerns of mental health must not come to us only as an afterthought.

Start now...wherever you are...

about MYSELF...

By training, I am a certified psychoanalyst and it is this way

of relating, experiencing and understanding human condition,

that I weave into every intervention and initiative at Couch & Beyond.

Whether it is long term or time bound engagement;

whether it is individual, couple, or group work,

it has its root in psychoanalytic insights.

As an individual, I draw heavily from life and its many experiences.

When not working, I could be found

reading, writing, sketching or being with nature.

Basking in one of these regenerative spaces

help me deepen the connect within and beyond,

silence being a haven of its own kind!

Integrity and faith are integral to what I offer,

and therapy feels sacred

as a process of healing and transformation.

my APPROACH

40.png

Often,

when one says 'mental health',

it is heard and understood as 'mental illness.'

For me, 'mental health' refers to our psychological capacity for

experiencing, embodying, and embracing ourselves,

including that what is aching, ailing, alienated and alienating within.

My approach is simple, sensitive

and oriented towards individual as a whole,

with focus on mobilising psychic growth

and developing emotional capacity within.

I believe symptom or life crisis is often an entry point,

an alarm, to get us to 'begin' thinking health.

It is not our whole story.

THE PSYCHIC CANVAS

Here comes for you

a melange of human experiences

from near and far,

experiences both lived and un-lived,

from private chambers of our being

to those that have long been alive, heard and seen,

personal and political and also those lost in between.

It all comes to you in shades of black, blue, yellow,

pink, purple, white, orange, red and green

creating its own...breathing its own...

discovering its own...
